Cupcake Fun

Here's an idea - have your own cupcake decorating party!  Be it just the ladies or mommies and kiddies, it is the best way to have your cake and eat it too.  Oh, and don't forget to save one for daddy too...

Papillion

Papillion is french for "butterfly".  A pretty summery motif for a nice summer's day, or afternoon tea!

Have the girl's over for a party and then head out to the movies.  Bring out the nice tea set and munch on little cakes & canapes.  You can even wear hats!

The butterflies are delicate thin pieces of tinted real Valhrona white & dark chocolate.  Pretty and perfect for any occasion.

Red is the color of...cupcakes!

Eat cupcakes and live happily every after...or at least while you eat the cupcake.

Fusion style is in everywhere in every cuisine, so why not cupcakes?  Red symbolizes not only love, but prosperity, luck and happiness.

C & M Weddings

Oooh, ahhh.  Wedding cupcake towers always get appreciative sounds from the guests.  This one, done at Repulse Bay was even made more attractive with it's own tent!

Ever getting more popular in Hong Kong, cupcake towers are a great alternative to boring old wedding cake, especially since the wedding couple can choose different flavors, icing colors, designs and cake toppers, sometimes even monograms.  One of our specialties is little elegant sugar roses.

Made fresh on location about an hour before the wedding, early guests have a treat to watch the cupcakes being piped right in front of them.  Pictured: champagne colored cream in Orange Blossom flavor on Chocolate Sponge Cupcakes.

And we'll dress up real cute too, if we're invited.

Bursts of Flavor

Experimenting with different flavors is one of our favorite things to do.  If only flavors came in 0 calories - constant tasting does takes it's toll!  Here we have Strawberry Cream with freshly made strawberry reduction & tart freeze-dried strawberry cream.  My personal favorite, Mint Chocoltate Chocolate Cupcake, and last is yummy Nutella Swirl topped with toasted almonds.

These minis were another experiment with chocolate mini cupcakes - Butterscotch Crunch, Mini Mint Chocolate Chip, and Mocha - yum!

Luxury Chocolate Minis

While most kids are bound to adore colourful or even plain cupcakes with sprinkles, many adults always find it difficult to resist the temptation of bitesized chocolate cupcakes.  Created with a box of chocolates in mind, these tiny morsels make perfect gifts or elegant party desserts.

As for chocolate's sinfully delicious nature, some believe that it was made by the devil.   In the first row of the photo, you can see our version of Devils Food Mini Cupcakes.  Trust me, they are moist, airy, and rich!

In the second row, it is my personal favorite - double chocolate cupcakes sprinkled with crushed almonds.  Finally, in the third row is our chocolate based cupcake topped with a piece of Malteaser Chocolate and dipped in a satiny chocolate ganache.

All three are sinfully decadent especially when you pair them with a cup of hot coffee or tea!

Circus Cupcake Tower

We made twin brothers, Nathan and Ian, a circus cupcake tower for their 3-year old birthday party in May.  This was their first ever birthday party and we wanted to create colorful and cheerful cupcakes according to their Circus themed party.

There was also a popcorn stand, face painting stand, a clown, and "put your head in the hole" boards - all made by us. Mommy also chipped in!

To make the colors vibrant for our little patrons, we spent quite some time working on the icing and gumpaste figures.  The tower itself acted as the eye-catching centerpiece and was endlessly attacked with little pokey fingers during the birthday song.

Both the kids and parents loved every element in our circus cake- the clown, the merry-go-around, the animals, etc....., especially when they are so yummy!  We are always happy to see kids lick all the icing first, and crumbs on their faces!

This is an happy ending of our many hours of hardwork and everyone enjoyed the party and cake very much.

Strange Birds Layered Cake by Cora

Cora and I are good friends as well as passionate bakers, especially in cupcake baking.  Recently, she received a forwarded email from a co-worker about an online cake compeitition.  The contest is based on a fun idea -  turning T-shirt art into edible art.

Competitors are required to interpret a t-shirt design to a cake design.  Among hundreds of T-shirt designs, Cora chose "Strange Birds".  She said it is "challenging but not overly so."  And, here we are, Cora's first layered cakewith fondant!  It is 100% homemade with 100% effort.  It is superb and fantastic!
